What things suck about the internet?
Ads, And Tracking
Holy shit, the internet is stuffed full of ads. Everything you do is monitored, every scrap of monetizable information is extracted and sold. Not here. No information about you is being collected.
Javascript
Pages are slow and full of bullshit. Javascript is the technology that makes this possible, as without it pages would be restricted to being totally static. We take it as an interesting design challenge to build as much as possible, without it.
Widespead Surveillance and Censorship
Not just by moderators, but by the hoards of strangers that get funneled onto your "content" on every even remotely social website. To begin, I have made this website non-interactive.
Difficult to create your own website
CSS is an utter bitch. I hope to find ways to produce nice looking pages, wthout having to fuck with CSS, in a way that does not feed into the larger "software sucking" ecosystem.
