The goal of this website is to document technologies we think are still useful today, focusing primarily on self-hosted infrastructure.
This site does not use Docker or one-click installers: These instructions are for people who want to understand what is being set up and run. Knowing these techniques will continue to be useful, long after the “easy” methods have gone away, because these are the actual underlying tools used by the software itself.
However, we do seek to be easy in the sense of “complete” - You should be able to sit down with only these instructions and get a working service, even without background knowledge of Linux or other software development practices. If it is relevant, the site should teach you.
